Description: E. Howard No. 70-24 Wall Regulator Clock. Original 24 in. painted wood dial signed E. Howard & Co., Boston has black Roman hour numerals and large pierced trefoil hands; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed E. Howard & Co., Boston and numbered 2-24, has anchor escapement, Geneva stop, long ebonized pendulum stick with damascened brass covered bob, lockdown hardware on the weight baffle, solid brass pulley and original iron No. 1 weight. In a large size oak No. 70 wall hanging case with flanged door bezel, cut corbels and lower drop section with original red, black and gold leaf reverse painted tablet. Case has an excellent original light oak finish and is in excellent condition, tablet has very light flaking to the paint, dial is in good overall condition with no visible inpainting, front tab of lockdown hardware is replaced, has original locks and key, has winding key. Provenance: This clock was displayed in the Shorty LaRose clock museum, Greensboro, North Carolina. 59 in. high x 30.75 in. wide x 8 in. deep.
