FRENCH EMPIRE FIGURAL GILT BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK. Relief molded scene on the front of the base with a man in a chariot drawn by two oxen leading a winged angel. On top of the platform is a cornucopia overflowing with gold coins, a shovel and a staff. A small tree sprouting on the left, to the right is a robed maiden holding a cornucopia of flowers in her left hand and an assorted bouquet of flowers and fruit in the other. Centered on a platform is an image of nature showing wind, clouds and sunshine supporting the movement. The 2.75"dial has black roman numerals The outer circumference is molded with signs of the zodiac. Time and strike 8 day brass movement. 14"W x 18.5"H x 5"D. Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500.
