French Figural Bronze Mantle Clock. The figure on top depicts an allegorical scene of music, a seated woman wearing a long robe holds a harp in her lap, beside her is a winged putti, seated and leaning back in a playful pose, he is playing a triangle; the statue is signed Salmson 1857. The base has 8 copper mounts with repousse portraits, has fancy scrolling mounts and lions paw front feet. 3.5 in countersunk dial has Roman hour numerals on the chapter ring, open trefoil hands and exposed Brocot escapement. Typical round French brass movement signed L'Marti. 23 in. high x 18 in. wide x 9 in. deep
