Quality 2 cut glass jar mercurial compensating pendulum with long steel rid, brass cross bars, finials and S-scroll mounts on the top; quality brass covered weight with 5 spoke pulley framed in a fancy pierced decorated cage. Excellent Victorian & Gothic transitional carved walnut case c.1850, has a pierced carved crest with filigree and center medallion, lobed leaf carving bordering the shoulder of the bonnet, the body of the case has turned half columns with leafy corbels on the beveled corners, original glass on the front doors and sides with turned ivory pulls; the base has filigree carved corner corbels and inset arched panels on the front and sides, the silvered beat indicator is mounted on a pierced carved riser. one glass pendulum jar has a V shaped crack in the top but holds mercury. 86.5 in. high x 25 in. wide x 15 in. deep.
