Description:

Three Weight-Driven Connecticut Shelf Clocks, 19th century.

1) New Haven Clock Company, 30-hour clock with alarm in a mahogany veneer case with two half columns, overcoated finish, original painted dial and steel hands, full label inside back, no weights, clock will tick and strike if tension applied to the cords, 24 x 15 1/2 x 5 inches.

2) William Johnson, Cortland St., New York, 30-hour time and strike shelf clock in a rosewood veneer case with a painted wood dial, brass 30-hour movement is dirty, enhanced finish with several veneer chips, weights are reproductions, not running, strike works if tension is applied to the cord, 24 1/2 x 15 x 4 1/2 inches.

3) Seth Thomas Clock Company, 30- hour shelf clock with four columns, original finish and glasses, painted dial is of the period but not original to this clock, unsigned movement is loose and weight cords are broken, original weights are inside with the strike side loop being broken, several dings and veneer chips and touched up areas on lower tablet, unable to test, 26 x 16 x 4 3/4 inches.
