Fontaine's Auction to Sell The Tiffany Lamp Collection of Dr. Joseph T. Sheridan
Since the early 1970's, Dr. Joseph T. Sheridan sought out the best examples of his favorite Tiffany lamps. Doctor Sheridan was a skilled vascular surgeon and a leader at Chicago’s now-closed Michael Reese Hospital where he practiced medicine for 50 years. With a great eye and knowing who was reputable to purchase from, he amassed a collection with exceptional examples of the Laburnum, Nasturtium, Tulip, Flowering Bouquet, Peony, Lotus, Spider, Nautilus and more. Many of these examples he purchased from Lillian Nassau, New York, in 1971- 1973 and from Chicago Art Galleries. Fontaine's Auction is honored to offer his important collection.
