The 17 1/2" silvered dial with surface wear has a minute chapter ring with black Arabic numbers, above 6 o'clock is the hour subdial with Roman numerals and below 12 o'clock is the seconds subdial with Arabic numbers, A brass bezel surrounds the dial. The heavy brass movement is unsigned, running on 2 weights both connected to a single great wheel drum and arbor. The tooth gear is missing from the Geneva stop mechanism. The movement sits on 2 iron brackets fixed to the back of the case. Has a 2 jar mercury cut glass compensating pendulum. The walnut case has medallion and reeded carvings at the top of the door and turned half columns with finials on the sides. The lower base has a leaf and medallion carving.
