This is an original copy of the journal printed the day after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theater. The text graphically describes the event and the president's official death, at 7:22 AM, the morning of the papers printing. Also notes in the main article the attempted assassination of Assistant Secretary Fred W. Seward as well as updates from the ongoing war. This copy is in excellent condition, has been folded and has some wear along these seams as well as light staining. 21.5"W x 25.5"H. Estimated Value $300 - 500.
