Alexander Henry Military Carbine. 22.5" round barrel is chambered for the 450 No.2 cartridge and has a decent but frosty bore.The left side of the receiver is marked HENRY'S PATENT, the lockplate (also on the left side) is marked ALEXr HENRY.The right side of the receiver is marked W.R.A&A Co over 1871.This stands for Westley Richards Arms & Ammunition Company. These carbines are very rare and were made for the Territory of New South Wales. The stocks are very good but they have had extra finish applied over the years. The right side of the buttstock is stamped N.S.W. over K20. This carbine has sling swivels on the front band and rear of the buttstock. The top of the barrel is marked HENRY"S PATENT RIFLI(NG. Most metal surfaces are a silvery gray. You might never see another one of these. Estimated Value$800 - 1,200.
