BRITTISH 12 LB. CANNON CIRCA 1812. Mounted on a post Civil War naval carriage. 61" tube has a 3.25" bore. Muzzle flare is 9.25". Back of tube, ahead of touch-hole the numbers 8 2 21 are stamped. Carriage is 29" tall at tops of trunnions and 45" long. Has 2, 8" solid metal wheels at front. Most of carriage is steel with brass fittings. A very impressive cannon that doesn't take up a lot of room. Overall dimensions are approximately 31" wide by 65" long by 37" high. Estimated Value $30,000 - 50,000.
