Description:

PERCUSSION HALF STOCK RIFLE BY GEORGE O. LEONARD, KEENE, NEW HAMPSHIRE. And so marked on the barrel. 30" barrel is approximately 32 caliber and has a front globe sight with pinhead and a tang mounted lollypop rear sight. Lock is plain but top tang, trigger guard, butt-plate, inlays and patch box are nicely engraved. The beautiful American eagle patch-box is the highlight of this gun and it still contains some patches. Walnut stock is nicely checkered and still retains most of its finish but has a small crack above the lock. Double set triggers work well. A very fine rifle. As an aside, Ned Roberts shot his first bear with a George Leonard rifle. Estimated Value $1,200 - 1,500.
