Description:

CONFEDERATE FAYETTEVILLE 1864 MUZZLE LOADER ARMORY RIFLE. 58 caliber with 33" barrel stamped with VP and eagle head on the left flat and 1864 on the top flat. Lockplate has an eagle over C.S.A. in front of the hammer and 1864 behind the hammer and Fayetteville at the front portion of the lock. Barrel was browned and most of the original finish remains. Brass buttplate is stamped CSA at the top in the front of the screw. Buttplate, trigger guard, bands and nose cap are all brass with pleasing patina. Wood stock is in fine condition with a crisp vertical cartouche at the rear portion of the flat, opposite the lock. This is a very rare type IV in fine condition. Estimated Value $20,000 - 25,000.
