"ELLIOT OF LONDON" CARVED 9 TUBE GRANDFATHER CLOCK. This clock has a top quality massive solid brass clock movement sitting on a solid mahogany seat board. This movement provides a choice of striking the quarters in Westminster or Whittington chimes on tubes. The hour strikes on a single tube. The clock has quality brass weights and a good original pendulum with steel flat rod and brass bob. It has a typical London style dial with silvered chapter ring with large bold raised Arabic hour numerals, pierced brass raised decorative spandrels and sub seconds bit. Original hands, moon phase with lunar calendar, silent/chime lever, chime choice lever and the dial is signed "ELLIOT LONDON". The clock bonnet has a broken arch form with three fluted finials, fluted and dentil molding, applied trimmings and three decorative columns ending with fancy capitals. The trunk has an oval beveled glass door and beveled side glass panels with fluted and turned columns and applied trimmings. The base has a carved center panel and carved paw feet. 27"W x 102"H x 17"D. Estimated Value $8,000 - 12,000.
