English Carved Mahogany Grandfather Clock. 12 in. silvered dial signed “J.W. Singer, Frome”, has incised black Roman hour numerals and 5 minute numbers outside, brass back plate with corner spandrel mounts, engraved center and moon phase dial signed “Wright, Birmingham”. Brass 8 day weight driven movement with a nest of 8 bells at the top, has a switch on the dial for 4 Bell Chime/ 8 Bell Chime & Silent/ Chime, brass pulleys, 2 brass covered weights and one iron weight, brass covered pendulum bob hanging from a long steel rod. In an excellent mahogany case with arched bonnet top, turned and carved cluster column corners, the body has filigree carving under the cornice with a heavily carved door panel of roses, ribbons, scythe and hour glass over an excellent carved base. French polished case in nice condition, movement is running and striking, repair to minute hand, has door key. 89 in. high x 23 in. wide x 12 in. deep.
