Description:

ENGRAVED COLT 1860 ARMY REVOLVER. Magnificent engraved and gold filled Colt model 1860 revolver. Most likely engraved after it was first made-possibly sent back to the factory and certainly worth a search. Barrel and lever assembly are plated, cylinder, frame and backstrap are engraved steel. Brass trigger guard and front strap are also engraved. Barrel is marked Address Col. Sam L. Colt New-York U.S. America in one line. Tight, well-fitting wood grips still retain inspection cartouche on both sides which lead us to believe this work was done after it left the factory. Engraving is very well executed and retains at least 80% of the gold wash. SN# is 662xx and all numbers match. Gun is in excellent condition. Estimated Value $4,000 - 6,000.
