FRENCH FIGURAL 8 DAY MYSTERY CLOCK. Circa 1880. black marble case with brass trimmings and claw feet. Has a 4.5"marble dial with brass numerals and bezel. Standing on top is a figural Hunterss "swinger" holding a long pendulum with an engraved glass bob. The pendulum swings, which swivels the figure slightly and engages the escapement. The 8 day, half hour time and bell-strike movement bears the marks of Guilmet and is numbered 3140. The case and the movement are in very clean condition.Has a small chip to the back side of the bob and a minor crack in the lower right corner of the marble base. 9"W x 25"H x 6.5"D.
