Description:

FRENCH FIGURAL CONICAL MANTLE CLOCK "FARCOT & LAURENT". Mounted on top of this clock stands a 23" robed bronze maiden, in one hand she holds an hour glass and the other hand is reaching up holding out the pendulum. The figure shows very fine detail in her braided hair, fingers, robe and toes. The long decorative conical pendulum has a star studded blue bob, it is operated through a crank arm connected to the train, which runs up through the base. The time and bell strike movement, signed and numbered 10723, has a partially skeletonized 4"dial with applied brass numerals. The movement is mounted inside the heavy red marble case with some gilt bronze mounts applied around the bezel. Attributed to Farcot & Laurent, Paris, Circa 1880. 15.5"W x 37.5"H x 9"D. Estimated Value $15,000 - 20,000.
