Description:

FRENCH INDUSTRIAL STEAM CLOCK & BAROMETER./ A large central cylinder and piston with a vertical connecting rod powers the flywheel with a centrifugal governor assembly. The cylinder has two large fireboxes on either side mounted with boilers, and with all attendant pressure lines and tubing leading to the cylinder. There is also a barometer over the right firebox and a thermometer behind the cylinder. The automation is driven by a separate spring motor housed in the base, powering the flywheel. Featuring clean gilt and silvering throughout on a rouge marble base, Circa 1890. 14"W x 18"H x 7"D.
