French Figural Moreau Swinging Arm Clock. Standing spelter figure of a French maiden in long flowing robes blowing in the wind, in her left hand she holds a tablet which reads "Au Merite" (Merit), her right hand holds up the large pendulum, on a turned ebonized wood base; sculpture is signed L.F. Moreau, tag on the front reads "Au Merite, L.F. Moreau, Mdle d'Or", has a gilt finish. The large 3 rod gridiron pendulum has 3.5 in. spherical top containing the movement with applied brass Roman hour numerals, fancy pierced hands, gilt ribbon crest and gilt filigree shoulder supports with a spherical pendulum bob at the bottom; brass spring driven time only movement with initials "C.O.A." over 5241 and marked France. 24 in. high.
