German Imperial Officer's Cavalry Sword, Germany, pre-WWI. Steel bird's head pommel; gray fishskin grip with brass wire wrapping. Steel pierced "honeysuckle" guard with dual slot for sword knot. Single-edged blade with fuller. Steel scabbard with one carrying ring. Scabbard and blade lightly pitted throughout. Blade is unique having grooved fuller on one side, flat surface on other side.
