J.O. Robson Half Stock Sporting Rifle. Approx: .41 caliber, 30 in. octagonal barrel with rifled bore, percussion cap & ball, walnut half stock, grain painted ramrod, inlaid squirrel on the left of the stock, silvered nickel finish on the butt-plate, squirrel inlay, trigger guard & patch box; signed on the lock plate "Atkinson - Warrented" and on the top of the barrel "J.O. Robson, Buffalo, NY" serial number "1012" and proof-mark on the left flat of the barrel breech with initial "B". Has a rear eyepiece sight, missing sight on the mid-section of the barrel and has sight at the end of the muzzle; 4 holes in the top of the barrel where the rifle was once fitted with a scope. Circa 1850-1880, very nice & clean silvered finish, brown patina on barrel, stock is very nice and clean. Overall 46.5 in. long.
