JOHN ROGERS GROUP - WOUNDED TO THE REAR, ONE MORE SHOT. Dated Jan. 17, 1865. The two Union soldiers are side by side, one on guard reaching to a cartridge box on his right hip. The other soldier is seated, dressing a wound on his right leg. This is a wonderful group with great detail. It is signed on the platform "John Rogers - New York" "Patented Jan. 17, 1865". Has some rubbing to the finish, plus a few chips and losses to the right thigh of the wounded soldier. A hole through the rear of the platform where it may have once been secured to a table. 9"W x 23"H x 9"D. Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.
