Large Black Forest Carved Cuckoo Clock. 8 in. wood dial with applied hour numerals, carved bone hands and large carved bugle style bezel; pierced brass 30 hour weight driven movement has 3 pinecone weights (7.5 in. long), a half hour strike with single cuckoo on the half hour and hour cuckoo strike playing a 3.5 in. cylinder music box, coiled gong strike and animated figural carved cuckoo bird with a seated woman playing a mandolin. The carved crest has a large deer head with glass eyes and carved antlers over branches and oak leaves and crossed muskets; the case front has a large hanging rabbit and gamebirds on the sides with oak leaf and branch carvings, hanging powder bag and 2 more small gamebirds. In beautiful condition, running and case is overall very clean having a repair to the main beam of one antler. 57 in. high x 31 in. wide x 21.5 in. deep. Weight: 78 lbs.
