Leopold Carl Muller (German, 1834-1892). The oil on canvas depicts a city square scene with the focal point being of a man and two woman wearing vibrantly colored, extravagant garments. To the right of them stands a Cardinal and a group of people turned to the acolytes holding altar candles. A young boy is feeding pigeons to the left as they flock onto the herringbone designed street. Signed "Leopold Carl Muller" and dated 1877 lower right. Sight: 34 in. high x 50 in. wide. Frame: 41 1/2 in. high x 58 in. wide.
