Description:

Without a doubt, one of the most highly sought after Marilyn Monroe artifacts to ever surface. This is the original studio personnel record and W-4 form that was filled out entirely in the hand of Marilyn Monroe. There are numerous specific details that make this such an impressive and historic piece. The document itself has a total of four complete signatures in Marilyn's hand. The first section is filled out to include Monroe's real legal name, Norma Jeane Dougherty, as well as her professional name, Marilyn Monroe. Also listed are Marilyn's hand written social security number as well as all her particular statistics including her address, age, etc. One of the most unique features of this document is the intentional error made by Monroe when filling the form out. It is a fact that Marilyn Monroe was born in 1926, but for some strange reason, Monroe lists her date of birth as June 1, 1928. She also lists her age as 21, but in fact she was 23 at the time. It is unclear why Monroe misled the studio, but it is assumed that the studio would rather have a younger rather than older starlet. This is one of only a few known documents that have both Norma Jean Dougherty and Marilyn Monroe's signature together. The document itself is in absolutely mint condition with all the signatures nearly popping off the page. The document has been framed with acid free mattes to the highest museum standards and a description plaque. Truly the centerpiece to any world class Marilyn Monroe collection. 19.5"w x 36"h.
