Description:

Model 1861 U.S. Percussion Rifle-Musket. Contract model made by E. Robinson. 58 caliber barrel is 40" long with a fair bore that will clean up better. The lock is marked with an eagle over "U.S." and "E. Robinson" over "New York" in front of the hammer and 1863 behind the hammer. All metal parts are bright with pitting mostly confined to the area around the nipple. The rear sight retains most of its original blue. The left barrel flat at the breech is stamped "CBC". The wood stock is very good. This rifle is part of a contract of 12,000 arms delivered in June of 1863. Comes with original bayonet. Estimated Value$1,500 - 2,000.
