Monumental 40 in. Walter Harris Bracket Clock. 11 in. silvered dial signed “Walter Harris, London” with black Roman hour numerals and fleur de lis markers, aperture cutout with engraved sub moon phase, 5 in. sub month calendar dial, 3 in. sub date and day calendar dials and 2.75 in. sub dials for “Silent, Chime” & “Cambridge, Chime on 8 bells, Chime on 10 bells” with relief filigree mounts. High quality brass triple fusee movement has filigree engraved brass plates with urn in the center, good fusee chains, progressive quarter hour chime on 4 coiled gongs on a nest of 10 bells at the top of the movement and strikes the hour on a cathedral gong; has a quality brass covered pendulum bob engraved with an 8 point star and filigree, in running condition. In a massive ebonized case having an arched top with pediment and gilt brass pineapple finial, pierced gilt brass filigree inset panels, large corner columns with Corinthian capitols, filigree mounted feet and hinged side handles, in excellent condition. 40 in. high x 25 in. wide x 14 in. deep.
