Description:

NEW HAMPSHIRE STYLE MIRROR CLOCK. This clock has a case that is typical of a Joseph Ives style but the clock has a very unusual skeletonized brass movement which has half moon cutouts at the base. The construction of the movement is quite typical of a New Hampshire maker but the case style lends itself to be from further south. The clock has period style hands, a badly flaking 7"dial, unusual green reverse painted upper glass and a lower mirror in the door. It has a broken arch top which is not original. The case front is gilded and has chipping, imperfections and loss of gilt in many places. The clock has a typical pendulum rod, brass bob and cast iron type clock weight. 14"W x 40"H x 5.5"D. Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,500.
