Prussian Army (Imperial) Officer Sword, Germany, model 1889. Gilt brass pommel cap; gray fish skin grip with gilt wires and imperial cypher (WRII). Gilt brass knuckle guard with fixed (not hinged) guard with Prussian eagle device. Single-edged straight blade with two fullers and inscribed "A & A Schnitzler Solingen". Matte black metal scabbard with one carrying ring. Scabbard is replacement furnished in 1984 by E. & F. Horster & Co., Solingen. Tip of blade is blunted; blade shows lightest rust. L40574eather finger loop is replacement. Estimated Value$250 - 350.
