Description:

Remington New Model S/A belt Revolver. 6 1/2" octagon barrel is 36 caliber and has a fine bore. The top of the barrel is marked, "Patented Sept. 14, 1858" over "E. Remington & Sons Ilion New York USA" over "New Model". There is a letter E stamped on the left side of the brass trigger guard. The hammer retains most of its case color hardening, the cylinder retains about 50% blue, the lever about 60%, the barrel about 20-25% and the frame is mostly a gray and brown mix with slight traces of blue in protected areas. The wood grips are in excellent condition. This is an early gun (serial number 450) which was made on the double action frame. A rare gun. Estimated Value$1,000 - 1,500.
