Robert Roskell Detent Boxed Chronometer. 4 in. painted metal dial signed “Robert Roskell, Maker to the Admiralty, Liverpool, No. 1565 - 60972”, has black Roman hour numerals, sub seconds dial and up/down indicator; quality spring driven 2 day time only single fusee movement, has detent escapement, large balance wheel with helical spring. In a mahogany case with double hinged lid, glass dust cover, silvered brass handles, movement is mounted in a silvered brass tub with silvered gimballed hardware, silvered brass bezel and beveled crystal. In nice overall condition, escapement is not running, missing the impulse pin (escapement pallet), spring does not hold power. 7.5 in. high x 7 in. wide x 7 in. deep. Weight: 9 lbs.
