AMES MODEL 1832 ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD. Has a cast fish scale handle with round pommel and cast spread winged eagle with shield on each side. The cross-type bar quillon is marked on one side "J.H." and "R. H.K.W." on the other. The blade's faded mark reads "N.P. Ames - Chicopee - US. 1856 - JHH". Blade is very good with minor surface rust, handle has few light dings, overall good shape. 25"W x 4"H. Estimated Value $400 - 600.
