Description:

MATCHED PAIR OF FLINTLOCK SEA SERVICE PISTOLS. Circa 1812, 69 caliber with 9.25" barrels. Brass mountings have very heavy grip caps with fixed iron lanyard ring. Browned barrels have small proof mark at rear section in front of the barrel tang. Locks have a small oval between the cock and frizzen spring that has what appears to be some arabic script. Wood stocks are generally good but one pistol has a 1" by 1/2" section of wood missing from right front side by the nosecap. Both pistols are missing one brass estucheon for wedge pin. Pistol with missing wood has a nail instead of wedge pin. You seldom see a matched set of large bore flintlock pistols like these. Estimated Value $3,000 - 5,000.
