Oak Herschede 5 Tube Grandfather Clock, Model 95. Brass dial signed "Frank Herschede, Cincinnati", has a 12 in. silvered chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, moon phase with silvered arch, switches for Chime/ Silent & Silent/ Strike, fancy pierced brass and engraved center & corner spandrels with pierced hands; brass 8 day weight driven movement marked "Germany", has Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, quality brass pulleys, brass covered weights, brass covered pendulum bob with steel pendulum stick, plays Westminster on 5 silvered tubes signed "Herschede Hall Clock Co., Cincinnati, O". In an excellent oak case with quartersawn grain, double scroll carved crest over carved hanging garland, beveled door glass, fancy carved corners with wreath and ribbon carving below the door; the body has fluted corner columns, arched door with beveled glass panel, filigree carved skirt over inset panels and stands on claw feet. In very nice condition with a cleaned and enhanced original finish; appears to be missing a seashell finial (centered in the crest). 99 in. high x 29 in. wide x 17 in. deep.
