Description:

Remington New Model Army Revolver. 8" octagon barrel is 44 caliber and has a good bore. The top of the barrel is stamped, "Patented Sept. 14 1858" over "E. Remington & Sons Ilion New York USA" over "New Model". The frame retains about 60% thinning blue with the rest turning gray, and is marked with a "W" above the hammer screw and an "R" on the flat in front of the cylinder. The barrel is stamped with a "D" on the left and an "A" on the right. The cylinder is a mix of blue and gray and it looks like a longer brass blade front sight has been installed. This is a late gun with serial number 121193. The brass trigger guard has a nice patina and is marked with the letter D. The wood grips are very good. Estimated Value$1,200 - 1,600.
