E. HOWARD FIGURE 8 #8 CLOCK. E. Howard & Co. #8, figure 8 weight-driven wall clock. Has an early original movement that is signed Howard & Davis, Boston. Pendulum stick is wood and has been gold-leafed. Bob is original to the clock. Weight baffle is painted red. Dial is unsigned. There are a few minor, extra holes under the dial. Dial is in good condition and is an early dial. Weight is original and is marked #3. Case is in good condition with minor nicks and scratches due to it's age. Reverse painted throat glass & reverse painted door glass does have minor flaking, but in overall good condition. Inside the door has a label from E. Howard & Co. with directions for putting up the clock. Moon hands are original and in good condition. This clock is one of the earliest examples of a Howard figure 8 we have seen. 15"W x 44"H x 4.5"D.
